Rodan + Fields Give It A Glow Mini Facial Review

Old Man Winter has been playing tricks on my skin. One day he’s harsh and other days he’s mild leaving my skin not knowing what to expect. Thankfully, a beautiful friend/Rodan and Field’s Consultant graciously asked me to test the Micro-Dermabrasian Paste + Give It a Glow facial. She was passionate about the products and had personally seen great results. Explaining it would only take two nights out of my week to perform the test, I quickly said YES and couldn’t wait to share my results with YOU.

Once the package arrived, I was super excited to get started (a little nervous as well, because you never know how your skin will react to new products, am I right?).

Enough chit chat, let’s get started shall we!

Rodan + Fields Give It A Glow Mini Facial

To start, I really appreciated the products’ packaging design. It was very clean, contents were secure, and instructions were easy to follow.

Micro-Dermabrasian Paste

Step 1: I removed my eye makeup, washed my face with my water-based cleanser and made sure my skin was completely dry.

Step 2: I applied the Micro-Dermabrasian paste all over my face and neck for 60 seconds (avoiding my eye area).  I rinsed thoroughly and patted my skin dry and immediately noticed how soft my skin felt. I finished with my retinol serum and moisturizer.

My thoughts: The texture of this product reminded me of a dry salt or sugar scrub — a little abrasive but not irritating. I definitely didn’t feel like the paste was scratching my skin by any means.  It was very soothing with little to no fragrance.  The next day my face still felt very soft and I didn’t detect any breakouts, phew! I also noticed my makeup applied very easily and my pores looked less noticeable.  To be honest, I’m not sure if it was the Paste or my current skincare routine.  Either way, I was happy the next morning.
125 mL/4.2 US fl. oz. runs $80– about $19 an oz. At this pricepoint, personally I’ll hold off on making a purchase +  I have skin prone to cystic acne and I fear the paste would make my skin produce too much oil.

Daily Cleansing Mask, Night Renewing Serum & Lip Renewing Serum

Step 1: I removed my eye makeup, washed my face with my water-based cleanser and made sure my skin was completely dry.

Step 2: I applied the Cleansing Mask (avoiding my eye area) and allowed it to set for 2 minutes. I rinsed off the product and patted dry. I immediately felt like my skin felt EVEN softer, WHAT?!  I was entrigued and HAD to look into the descripton online.
Description reads: This creamy, Kaolin clay-based cleansing mask dries quickly, drawing impurities from your pores without robbing your skin of essential moisture. This environmentally safe (and cruelty-free), finely granulated exfoliator also gently smooths out the skin and releases a skin conditioner for younger-looking, younger-feeling skin.

My thoughts: Young-looking, younger-feeling skin — Yep, I would say that’s an accurate description of how my skin felt.
125 mL/4.2 US fl. oz. runs $43 — about $10 an oz., I sat wondering how long a tube would last me because I REALLY ❤️ this mask.

Step 3: Night Renewing Serum

I opened the tiny capsule and smoothed the serum over my entire face and neck, (avoiding my eye area). I didn’t notice any tingling which I thought I might since this product contains Retinal-MD™ Technology – this is a Rodan and Fields trademarked skincare technology claiming the strength is 20 times that of Retinol. According to the website, it’s specifically designed to be tough on the signs of aging — not on your skin — it’s gentle enough for everyday use on nearly all skin types.

My thoughts: It was a nice product and my face was truly prepped to receive all the benefits after cleansing and exfoliating with the clay mask.  My skin did feel very soft after applying. My only concern would be the pricepoint. At $99 you receive 60 capsules. If my math serves me correctly, that equates to $49.50 for 2 months (if you use a capsule each night). If you can afford it, I say go for it!  Personally, I’ll stick to my current retinol product for the time-being.

Step 4: Lip Renewing Serum
I opened the little capsule and smoothed the serum onto my lips and went to bed.  Easy as that.

My thoughts: This product is amazing. Hands down. I love it. My lips felt uber smooth the next day which hasn’t happened in a LONG time. I also noticed positive results several days in a row.
60 capsules is priced at $56, so less than $1 per day. BUT, I feel like 1 capsule could last 2 days AND I would only need to use 2 capsules a week — making this fantastic product even more affordable! 🙂 ❤

All in all, I’m so happy I had the chance to test these awesome products and share my perspective.

Looking forward to hearing your comments and personal experiences with your skin care products!
